About

What we are doing

Our aim is to cycle the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to Tijuana over six weeks from August 2012. An average riding day will be 45 miles with some rest days in between. This isn't a race, more of an adventure challenge.

Since leaving the UK in June 2011, we have discovered many activities that we both really enjoy, like Scuba diving, trekking, skiing, surfing and especially cycling. We aren’t seasoned cyclers by any means. Dave has a lot more experience than me, from commuting to work every day in London for years. I hadn’t ridden a bike in about 10 years before we hired them in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

So we have a lot of training to do - but like they say, it’s as easy as riding a bike...

Why we are doing it

Travelling is an amazing experience, but it can be a little self-indulgent - being away from your families and friends; devoting your time, energy and money on the next thrill and experience.

We’re not saying that this isn’t going to be the experience of a lifetime, but we wanted to give something back and use our next adventure as an opportunity to raise money for a great charity.

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is a charity very close to our hearts, having both had people close to us affected by blood cancers.

They are our inspiration for this ride.

Any time we have a hard day, when we feel like getting off and pushing or even giving up. We will think of them and it will give us our strength to keep going.

When someone is sick, you always wish there is something you can do to help.

This is how we can help - and you can help too by sponsoring us here.

How we are doing it

We are cycling unaided, fully supported by ourselves. All money you donate will go directly to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Who we are

We are a couple in our early 30's from London, UK. Currently living in Vancouver after travelling South East Asia, Australia and Hawaii. You can check out our travelling blog here
